Illegal Army Uniform Trade Busted in Kutch: Two Stores Raided, Three Booked
August 25, 2026
Bhuj: Military Intelligence and Bhuj Police have launched a joint operation against the alleged illegal sale and storage of Army uniforms in Kutch, raiding two army and sports stores in Bhuj and Madhapar and seizing a large quantity of combat uniform material.
The raids were conducted at Dhaka Army General Store near Bhuj RTO Circle and Raghav Army and Sports Store in Madhapar, following inputs received by the police and Military Intelligence.
During the searches, officials seized 128 metres of combat uniform fabric, 50 pairs of combat dresses, 280 Army-style caps, and 36 coats and jackets.
The seizure of a substantial quantity of combat uniform fabric and ready-made garments has raised concerns over the alleged unauthorised storage and sale of Army-pattern uniforms in the open market.
Police are investigating whether the material was being stored and sold without the required permission. The agencies are also probing the source of the seized items and how they reached the two stores. Preliminary investigation indicates that the material had allegedly been stored without authorisation and was being prepared for transportation to another location.
Police have initiated legal action against Nathusinh Irvaram Dhaka, Kanji Teja Maheshwari, and shop owner Tarachand Ramkumar Shivran in connection with the case. Further investigation was launched based on a complaint filed by Head Constable Vikramsinh Laxmansinh Parmar.
Kutch shares an international border with Pakistan and is considered a sensitive district from a security perspective. Investigating agencies are examining the source of the seized material, its intended recipients, and whether it was part of a larger network involved in the unauthorised storage and distribution of Army uniforms.
Officials are also examining the possibility that the uniforms could be misused to impersonate military personnel or facilitate other security-related activities. DeshGujarat
