Ahmedabad Railway Station Base Kitchen Sealed, Fined ₹5 Lakh

Ahmedabad: Western Railway’s Ahmedabad Division has imposed a fine of ₹5 lakh and sealed the base kitchen at Kalupur Junction in the city after a surprise inspection found serious irregularities related to food quality and hygiene.
The inspection was carried out by the Railway Food Vigilance Force, constituted under Ahmedabad Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Ved Prakash.
Following the inspection, the railway administration took action against the base kitchen and sealed the facility. Western Railway, in a statement, said food quality and hygiene are being closely monitored and that no compromise will be tolerated in the food served to passengers. It added that strict action will be taken against violations of food safety standards.
The railway administration said passenger safety and amenities remain its top priority.
