Gujarat GST Revenue Grows 15% Year-on-Year in August 2026

New Delhi: Gujarat recorded strong growth in Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections in August 2026, with the state’s domestic GST revenue rising 15% year-on-year.
According to the latest data released by the Union Finance Ministry, Gujarat collected Rs. 12,047 crore in domestic GST during August 2026, compared to Rs. 10,482 crore in the corresponding month last year.
The state’s pre-settlement State GST (SGST) revenue also registered healthy growth, increasing 11% to Rs. 4,325 crore from Rs. 3,882 crore in August 2025. After the settlement of Gujarat’s share of Integrated GST (IGST), the state’s post-settlement SGST revenue rose to Rs. 8,312 crore from Rs. 6,470 crore a year earlier, reflecting a 28% increase.
At the national level, gross GST collections touched Rs. 1.99 lakh crore in August 2026, registering a 14.8% year-on-year increase over Rs. 1.74 lakh crore collected in August 2025. Net GST revenue, after accounting for refunds, stood at Rs. 1.68 lakh crore, up 8.3% from Rs. 1.55 lakh crore a year ago.
Among the major states, Uttar Pradesh recorded 19% growth in domestic GST revenue, followed by Telangana at 16% and Gujarat at 15%.
The figures are provisional and may change slightly upon finalisation. On a cumulative basis, Gujarat’s post-settlement SGST revenue stood at Rs. 41,627 crore during April-August 2026, up 28% from Rs. 32,396 crore in the corresponding period of 2025.
