Rs. 235 Crore Gambhira Bridge on Mahi River Connecting Vadodara and Anand Districts Inaugurated

Vadodara: Gambhira Bridge connecting Vadodara and Anand districts across the Mahi River was e-inaugurated on Saturday by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel here.

The Rs 235 crore bridge has been constructed in about one year. The earlier bridge at the location had suffered structural damage, affecting connectivity between the two districts.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Sankalp Bhoomi Smarak, developed at a cost of Rs 28.59 crore. The memorial complex includes a museum, auditorium, library, audio guide facility, hyper-reality and multimedia exhibition on Dr. BR Ambedkar and other facilities.

A Zonal Observation Home was also dedicated to the needy children. Built at a cost of Rs 8.35 crore over 2,186 square metres, the facility has a capacity to accommodate 50 children. It includes a computer laboratory, yoga facilities, library, health services and arrangements for meals.

During the programme, the foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 676.68 crore were laid, while projects worth Rs 352 crore including the projects mentioned above were inaugurated.

Together, the projects involving foundation laying and inaugurations are valued at approximately Rs 1297.68 crore. DeshGujarat
