All wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in Gujarat to reopen for tourists on October 9

Gandhinagar: In anticipation of upcoming festivals like Navratri and Diwali, the Gujarat State Forest Department has taken a decision for the benefit of domestic and international tourists. All wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in Gujarat will be opened to visitors starting October 9, 2026. The Forest Department has stated that entry will be granted in accordance with guidelines designed to ensure that wildlife remains undisturbed.

Furthermore, with the monsoon season now over and road conditions within the sanctuaries and national parks improved, tourists will be able to travel with ease. This decision will also generate employment opportunities for locals engaged in various small and large-scale jobs in these areas.

It is worth noting that, in addition to those in Gujarat, nine other prominent wildlife sanctuaries and national parks across the country—including Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (Rajasthan), Satpura Tiger Reserve (Madhya Pradesh), Bandipur and Nagarhole Tiger Reserves (Karnataka), Sariska Tiger Reserve (Rajasthan), and Pench and Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserves (Maharashtra)—were opened to tourists on October 1, 2026.
