Gandhinagar: Bharat SemiTech has expressed interest in establishing a semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility in Sanand with a proposed investment of approximately ₹1,000 crore, emerging as a key investment prospect during Gujarat’s investment outreach to Singapore and South Korea ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027.
A high-level Gujarat Government delegation led by Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia visited Singapore and South Korea from October 19 to 26, 2026, to promote Gujarat as a global investment destination and invite companies to participate in the 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, scheduled to be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, 2027.
In Singapore, the delegation held 20 meetings and visited facilities operated by Micron, ASMPT and other technology organisations, gaining insights into advanced semiconductor manufacturing, research and innovation. It also interacted with government representatives, industry associations and business organisations to explore investment and technology collaboration opportunities.
In South Korea, the delegation undertook 25 engagements, including meetings with leading companies and industry organisations in semiconductors, shipbuilding, display technology, data centres, biotechnology, clean energy and robotics. Site visits included HJ Heavy Industries, Hanwha Ocean, Seoul Semiconductor and research facilities specialising in medical technology.
During interactions with South Korean companies, the need for a dedicated single point of contact (SPOC) within the Gujarat Government was also highlighted to facilitate investor engagement and project-related support. DeshGujarat
