Chhaswala, Jai Bhavani Vadapav Among 4 Units Sealed by AMC

Ahmedabad: Chhaswala and Jai Bhavani Vadapav are among four commercial establishments sealed by the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) for littering in the West Zone, as part of a three-day enforcement drive that saw ₹2.35 lakh collected in administrative charges.

The drive, conducted by the West Zone Solid Waste Management Department under the supervision of the Deputy Municipal Commissioner (West Zone), covered commercial establishments, paan stalls and tea kiosks across various wards during daytime and night hours.

During the drive, AMC teams inspected 249 establishments and issued notices to 166 units for violations related to littering and banned plastic. They seized 12.5 kg of prohibited plastic and collected ₹95,000 in administrative charges for plastic-related violations.

The four sealed establishments are Burgonomics, New Ranip, Ranip; Chhaswala, Dharti Sanket, Ranip; Jai Bhavani Vadapav, Bhatha, Paldi; and Ashapuri Tea Stall, Naranpura.

AMC collected an additional ₹1.40 lakh in administrative charges for violations related to public cleanliness and nuisance.

The civic body is also conducting awareness activities across residential and commercial areas, urging citizens and businesses to segregate waste, hand it over to municipal collection vehicles and refrain from dumping garbage in public spaces.

AMC said enforcement drives would continue in the coming days to curb violations and protect public health.
