Gandhinagar: The Gujarat Government has decided to disburse ₹7.14 crore in pending sugarcane payments to more than 850 farmers associated with Shri Ukai Pradesh Khand Udyog Sahakari Mandali Limited (Vyara Sugar), with the amount to be credited directly to their bank accounts before Diwali.
Announcing the decision, Gujarat Government spokesperson and Minister Jitubhai Vaghani said Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had approved the financial assistance to provide relief to farmers in tribal areas facing difficulties due to delayed payments for their sugarcane produce.
Vaghani said the government had taken the decision after considering the difficulties faced by farmers associated with Vyara Sugar, which had been unable to make timely payments for the sugarcane supplied by them. Accordingly, arrangements have been made to transfer approximately ₹7.14 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 850 farmers before Diwali.
The minister said the issue was resolved following special efforts by Tribal Development Minister Naresh Patel, Minister of State Jayram Gamit and former minister Ganpat Vasava. DeshGujarat
