In Surat, IMAX 3D screenings at Rajhans Precia were priced between ₹1,450 and ₹1,500. At INOX VR on Dumas Road, Royal Recliner seats were priced at ₹800.
Meanwhile, regular 2D screenings in Ahmedabad and Surat offered comparatively affordable options, with several shows listed at prices starting around ₹500.
Ramayana: Part 1 draws attention for its scale and star cast
The steep ticket prices come amid considerable interest in Ramayana: Part 1. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, the film presents a cinematic retelling of the Hindu epic Ramayana and marks the first instalment of a planned two-part adaptation.
Released worldwide on November 5, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Goddess Sita and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol portrays Lord Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman. The supporting cast includes Arun Govil as King Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari and Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha.
The project has attracted attention for its extensive visual effects, elaborate production design and large-scale cinematic presentation. The two-part film reportedly carries a combined budget of around ₹4,000 crore, making it one of the most expensive Indian film projects ever undertaken.
The first instalment has a runtime of three hours and 15 minutes and is being screened in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, besides English for international audiences. IMAX and other premium formats have also been introduced to showcase its visual spectacle. DeshGujarat
