November 07, 2026
Ahmedabad: Two men were arrested on Friday for allegedly impersonating Ellisbridge MLA Amit Shah and pressuring a Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA) official to approve a licence for a healthcare company.
According to the FIR, a caller posing as Shah contacted drug inspector Parth Patel in Gandhinagar on October 29, questioning why Pulse Healthcare’s licence had not been approved and allegedly demanding its clearance.
Assistant Commissioner S N Gadhvi subsequently contacted Shah and shared a recording of the call. Shah denied making the call and lodged a complaint with Vasna police on Wednesday.
During the investigation, police traced the call to Vinay Kotar, 19, who was staying at a paying guest accommodation near Gandhigram railway station. Kotar allegedly told investigators that he had made the call at the behest of Rajnik Paradava, 34, who runs a consultancy firm.
Police arrested both accused and seized two mobile phones allegedly used in the offence. A case has been registered against them for impersonation and defamation. DeshGujarat
