Vadodara Railway Station Adds Holding Area, Steps Up Security for Festive Rush

Vadodara: Vadodara Railway Station has set up a 350-square-foot passenger holding area on Platform No. 6 and strengthened crowd-management arrangements at the railway station ahead of the Diwali and Chhath Puja rush, with around 10,000 passengers expected to travel towards North India, Bihar and West Bengal.

The special waiting area has been equipped with facilities such as drinking water, restrooms and an inquiry counter to ensure convenience for passengers travelling to their hometowns. CCTV surveillance has also been installed across the waiting area, enabling senior railway officials to monitor the crowd in real time.

To accommodate the festive rush, five weekly trains are currently operating from Vadodara to various destinations. Over the past 14 days, 34 train trips have been operated towards North India and West Bengal to facilitate passenger movement.

With significant congestion expected near general coaches, railway authorities have also stepped up security and queue-management arrangements. Personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF), CRPF, Government Railway Police (GRP) and Home Guards will be deployed to regulate passenger queues and facilitate smooth boarding.

Railway Public Relations Officer Khemraj Meena said special attention would be given to crowd management, particularly near general coaches, to ensure passengers can board trains safely and conveniently.
