Rajya Sabha election for 3 seats of Gujarat announced, polling if needed on August 8

Gandhinagar, DeshGujarat: Polling for three seats of Rajya Sabha in Gujarat will take place on Tuesday, August 8 if necessary(if there are more than 3 candidates then polling will be needed).
The Election Commission of India has announced Rajya Sabha election programme for three seats of Rajya Sabha on Gujarat according to which notification will be issued on July 21 while the last day of making nominations will be July 28.
Scrutiny of nominations will take place on Tuesday July 29. Last date for withdrawal of candidates will be July 31.
Polling will take place on August 8 during 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
Counting of votes will take place on the same day at 5.00 pm.
The term of 3 members of the Rajya Sabha elected from Gujarat is due to expire on their retirement on 18 August this year.
The members are Patel Ahmed Mohammedbhai, Pandya Dilipbhai Shivshankarbhai and Irani Smriri Zubin.
Polling for 1 Rajya Sabha seat of Madhya Pradesh(late Shri Anil Madhav Dave) and 6 Rajya Sabha seats of West Bengal(Derek O’Brien, Debabrata Bandopadhyay, Pradip Bhattacharya, Sitaram Yechury, Sukhendusekhar Roy and Dola Sen) will also take place as per the same programme described above.
