Veraval: A farmer today attempted suicide during an event organized in Prasli of Gir Somnath district in Gujarat where CM Vijay Rupani was addressing the gathering after inauguration of local marketing yard.

Mashrilal Dodiya, resident of Dolsa consumed poisonous liquid and was rushed to hospital here by police.

He was reportedly unhappy about the encroachment of approach road by alleged land-mafias around his land. He said that despite the order from the CMO around a fortnight ago the local TDO was not paying heed to it.
