LRD paper leak case: 3 more main accused nabbed, Paper was taken out from trash room of press in Manipal of Karnataka

Gandhinagar: Gujarat police has nabbed 3 more culprits of LRD paper leak case and claimed that paper was taken out from the trash-room of the Karnataka based printing press.
With these three arrests so far a total of 14 accused have been arrested in this case.
Addressing a press conference here DGP Shivanand Jha today said that One Vinay Ramesh Arora resident of Sonipat in Haryana, Mahadev Dattatreya Asture and Vinod Bansilal Rathod (both residents of Bidar in Karnataka) have been nabbed by Gujarat ATS and crime branch of Ahmedabad police.
Vinay along with a Delhi based former cop Vinod D Chhikara and the two from Bidar along with other members of their gang had stayed in Manipal of Udupi district of Karnataka with a plan to get the paper of a Haryana police exam from a press there. When in the midnight of November 20 and 21 they entered the press they got a discarded paper of Gujarat LRD exam which was thrown in a room for destruction due to some minor error. They took a photo of the paper and came out. There was no CCTV there. They later came to know about the paper and the earlier exam date (December 2).
They made a deal with one Virendra Mathur, a former state level weightlifter and resident of Karala village in Delhi in Rs 50 lakh. Virendra was earlier jailed in connection with another paperleak.
Jha said that there were many others apart from Mathur and Chhikara who were involved in various roles in the case. Police was trying to nab all of them.
Notably the LRD recruitment exam slated for December 2 was cancelled the same day after the information about the the paper leak. The new date of the exam has been fixed for January 6.
Around 8.75 lakh aspirants were to appear in the exam.
Police had earlier arrested 11 accused in this case including a police official and a woman, some aspirants and two conspirators from Mahdya Pradesh and Delhi.
