255 more Gujaratis return from China today, cumulative returns figure so far reaches 769

Gandhinagar: A total of 255 more Gujarati people including 161 from Ahmedabad city alone returned from Novel Coronavirus hit China today taking the total number of such returns after the outbreak of the deadly virus to 769.
This number also include the number of Gujaratis returned through special Air India flights. However no positive case has been detected so far.
In-charge Deputy Collector of the facilitation center set up at the State Emergency Operation Center (SEOC) here to help the Gujaratis living in Corona virus affected areas of China today said that of the total 769 returns, 622 were still under medical observation as precautionary measure. The observation period of other 147 has completed and none of them have been found infected with the deadly virus.The maximum 195 returns have taken place in Ahmedabad city. Rajkot city has seen 47 returns, Mahesana district 70 and Banaskantha 62 so far. 37 have returned to Sabarkantha while 35 to Navsari district so far.
Meanwhile an official of the health department said that all those returned from China would be kept under observation as the symptoms of the deadly infection takes up to two weeks to show up.
The SVP hospital in Ahmedabad has created a 30 bed isolation ward and a 12 bed related ICU unit as a precautionary measure to deal with Novel Corona virus infections if such cases were detected here.
