Ambaji included among Centre’s ‘PRASAD Yojna’, after Somnath and Dwarka

Gandhinagar: Gujarat’s top pilgrimage centre Ambaji has been included under the Central Government’s Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD) Scheme of the Union Ministry of Tourism.
The Ambaji yatradham situated in north Gujarat region was among the five new such pilgrimage centres added to PRASAD across the country.
According to a note by the State government, this development took place after Gujarat Tourism Corporation (TCGL)’s request to the Union Ministry of Tourism to include Ambaji under the PRASAD Scheme to create more facilities like a tourist centre, community kitchen and steps leading up to the temple.
Ambaji thus becomes the third centre under PRASAD Scheme in Gujarat, after Somnath and Dwarka in the Saurashtra region. Ambaji was recently certified ISO: 9001 for providing best facilities to the tourists.
