Dhordo Tent City: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today evening here watched a programme of performances of Kutchi folk songs. Among the artists who performed were Geeta Rabari and Osman Mir. Both hail from Kutch and famous for their folk songs. Osman Mir especially is known for his high-pitch songs. Among the song they performed was signature song of Kutchi spirit – Munji matrubhumi ko naman’. Those who performed dances on the songs were wearing specially made traditional masks. Chief Minister Rupani and Dy CM Nitin Patel, State BJP chief CR Patil among others joined the Prime Minister in this event in cold weather. The Prime Minister was wearing Kutchi pagh(head turnab) while watching the performances. Decades ago such pagh would be used by the King of princely state of Kutch. PM Modi also took a round of the vast stretches of Rann of Kutch before leaving for Bhuj. Prime Minister left for Delhi after the programme. DeshGujarat
