Gujarat crosses 4 crore doses mark in Covid vaccination programme

Gandhinagar: Gujarat has completed 4 crore mark in covid-19 vaccination programme. As on today, the State has administered over 4 crore doses of covid-19 vaccines covering 3,03,22,944 beneficiaries with first dose and 97,38,764 beneficiaries with second dose. Gujarat is leading state in per million vaccination as well.

The campaign began with healthcare workers, having covered 6.23 lakh with the first dose and 5.21 lakh with second dose. Gujarat was the first state to begin vaccination of frontline workers on January 31, 2021, having covered 13.43 lakh with the first dose and 10.56 lakh with second
dose.

On March 1, 2021 was launched the vaccination for above-60 age group and then those in the 45-59 age group. And from April 1, 2021 the vaccination was launched
for all above-45 age group. On the Gujarat’s Foundation Day on May 1, 2021 were included 18-44 age group in seven municipal corporations and three districts, and from June 4, 2021 the
campaign for 18-44 age group was extended to all the districts in the state. Nearly 1.48 crore in this 19-44 age group have been given the first dose and 10.43 lakh the
second dose.

Thus, out 4,93,20,903 persons above-18 age group in the state, 3,03,22,944 persons have been administered the first dose and 97,38,764 the second dose so far, totalling 4,01,61,708.
