More plots for shipbreaking to come up close to Alang

Bhavnagar: The Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) has started the process of developing 15 new plots for ship-breaking at Mathavda near Alang.
The new 15 plots for shipbreaking will be developed as per the Hong Kong Compliance and in larger size. At present, 153 plots are operational and the shipbreaking process go on in around 60 plots. This year, around 100 ships have arrived at the shipbreaking yard within 6 months. The construction of a road between Alang and Mathavda is approved. DeshGujarat
