Gujarat ACB nabs Deputy Mamlatdar in Rs. 10,000 bribe case

Jamnagar: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a senior deputy mamlatdar of Jamnagar city mamlatdar office in a bribe case of Rs 10,000.
ACB team Jamnagar had confidentially received the information that the employees of Jamnagar city mamlatdar office demand bribes ranging from Rs 5000 to Rs 10000 to give opinion on issuing fireworks licences. The sellers of fireworks didn’t get the opinion for fireworks licences till the amount of bribe wasn’t paid. To verify the information, ACB executed a decoy trap with the help of a decoyer. The accused senior deputy mamlatdar Chetan Vinodchandra Upadhyay was found taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the decoyer to give opinion for licence during the trap executed on 23rd October 2021.
