Gujarat govt forms committee to probe into SP Ring Road bridge collapse

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced a high-level committee to investigate Ahmedabad under-construction fly-over’s box girder collapse at Memadpura-Sanathal on Sardar Patel ring-road of Ahmedabad.
The committee led by secretary of Urban development and urban housing department Lochan Sahera will take services of four other members.
The committee will investigate the cause of the accident, details of damages, and errors and negligence in the construction work. It will also suggest steps to prevent such incidents in future. The investigation committee is supposed to submit the primary report to the state government within 30 days.
The services of the chief engineer of Gujarat Housing Board, chief or additional engineer of the design circle of the department of roads and buildings, a representative of GERI Vadodara, and a representative of forensic science laboratory will be taken in the committee as per requirement.
