DRI nabs third accused from Kerala in Mundra Port cocaine case

Bhuj: Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) nabbed the third accused in the case of cocaine worth Rs 500 crore seized from Mundra port.

DRI nabbed the accused Mohammad Hadi Shaikh Mahmood of Kasargod, Kerala from a village around Mangalore. The accused escaped from a toilet, when he was being brought to Gujarat by DRI. However, the DRI managed to find him and nabbed him again. He is brought to Ahmedabad in Gujarat via flight.

DRI has already nabbed 2 accused, the alleged importer Ilias Hakimuddin Merchant of Toast Tea Bakers Firm in Nasik and alleged helper Fatema Sayra Yavala from Udaipur, Rajasthan. They were sent to judicial custody after producing them in the special court for NDPS in Bhuj.

The cocaine worth Rs 500 crore, of 52.488 kgs weight was allegedly imported by concealing it with 24,807 kgs salt. It was seized from Mundra port. DeshGujarat
