Jagannath Mandir gets facial recognition CCTV system on Rath Yatra

Ahmedabad: The Jagannath Mandir here has got the facial recognition technology-laden CCTV camera today on the occasion of Rath Yatra festival at its main gate. This will help Police to identify and eliminate any potential threats.
The 145th Rathyatra has commenced from Jagannath Temple in Jamalpur, Ahmedabad today morning. Keeping in mind the inflow of devotees, security becomes the top priority of the police department. Therefore, in this year’s Rathyatra, Artificial Intelligence-Facial Recognition (AIRF) CCTV cameras are set up on the whole temple premises.
These cameras will recognise and record the facial attributes of each individual entering the premises. The facial features will then be matched with the 50,000 people’s data sets of law offenders and criminals in just 9 minutes and identify the criminals. The police will apprehend those perpetrators right away and inquire about their motives and possessions. DeshGujarat
