SMC proposes 3 new lake gardens in Surat

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has proposed to develop 3 more lake gardens at an estimated cost of Rs 19 crore in Surat.
A proposal has been submitted to the garden committee of SMC to develop 3 lake gardens including 2 in Udhna B zone and 1 in Athwa zone at an estimated cost of Rs 19 crore. The estimated cost for lake garden development across 39,145 square meters of land in Gabheni in Udhna B Zone is Rs 5.74 crore. The estimated cost for lake development across 46,255 square meters in Budiya in Udhna B Zone is Rs 5.56 crore.
The estimated cost for lake garden development in 54,267 square meters of area in the Athwa zone is Rs 7.72 crore. Surat city has around 192 lakes. The area surrounding 38 lakes will be developed.
