8 lions captured after 3 human deaths in Savarkundla forest range

Amreli: The forest department of the Gujarat government captured 8 lions after 3 human deaths in Ghanshyamnagar and Vavdi areas of the Savarkundla forest range. The eight lions are kept under observation.
The forest department of Rajula and Savarkundla has captured a total 15 lions including 7 lions captured within 2 months and 8 lions captured yesterday.
A 7-year-old child named Rafiq Shambhu Muniya died after a lion’s attack in Ghanshyamnagar 2 days ago. A 13-year-old child at Vavdi died due to a lion’s attack 2 months ago. A 3-year-old child of a farming laborer died 20 days ago in Ghanshyamnagar due to a lion’s attack. The locals of Ghanshyampur, Adsang, Thordi went to the range forest office in bikes and tractors and demanded to capture lions.
Total of 8 to 10 cages were set up and a team of Sasan was called for rescue. The eight lions captured include two lionesses, 5 cubs and one lion. The samples of blood and feces of the lions will be taken.
