Police Chowky set up for protection of Shetrunjee hill based temples

Bhavnagar: Bhavnagar Police has set up a police chowky on Shetrunjee hill with the presence of 15 police staffers including one Police Sub Inspector and two Assistant Sub Inspectors. The move has been taken as per the order of the district police chief.
The directive to set up this police chawky here is believed to have arrived from the State capital Gandhinagar in the wake of the protest programmes by Jain community.

The Jain community has organized protest rallies across the major cities of Gujarat in the last week demanding protection of their Palitana teerth atop Shetrunjee hills against certain anti-social elements. Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi himself belongs to Jain community. DeshGujarat
