Gujarat CM to dedicate and kick off development works worth ₹502 Crore in Surat

Surat: The Gujarat Chief Minister on Thursday will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects worth ₹502.34 crore that are being carried out by the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC), Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA), and the State Government’s Road and Building Department.

Among these projects, foundation stones will be laid for initiatives worth Rs. 46.10 crore in various zones of the SMC. The Urban Ring Development Corporation Ltd. has developed several ring roads, including bridges over the Tapi River, at a cost of around ₹403 crore, which will also be inaugurated. Furthermore, the foundation stone laying and inauguration of development works by SUDA, costing ₹33.08 crores, will take place. Additionally, two blocks of newly constructed B-category buildings for the road and building departments will be inaugurated. The programme will be held at the Sanjeevkumar Auditorium of the Municipality.

The Surat Municipal Corporation is currently placing a greater emphasis on education and health services. As part of this effort, several projects will be dedicated, including Nagar Primary School No. 176 at Kataragam, the newly constructed School No. 177, a modern library with furniture and interior at Limbayat-Dindoli (costing 5.68 crores), Chindran Park at Vesu (costing ₹71 lakhs), and gardens at Pali, Sachin, and Kansad (costing ₹84 lakhs). Additionally, a fire station and fire staff quarters at Sarthana-Seemada (costing ₹5.39 crore) will be inaugurated. Apart from these, a multipurpose community plot development at Motavarachha-Utran (costing ₹1.36 crore) and several other projects worth ₹18.07 crore will also be dedicated.

The Chief Minister will also inaugurate projects by the Urban Ring Development Corporation, Ltd. These projects include the Ring Road and Tapi Bridge, which were constructed at a cost of ₹403.03 crores. Additionally, 13 projects with a total cost of ₹20.66 crore from the Surat Urban Development Corporation will be launched.

The Urban Ring Development Corporation Ltd. has invested ₹223.72 crore in the construction of a 5.024 km road from Variav Junction to Kosad Village, a 3.270 km road from Bharathana Village to Abrama Road, a 2.250 km road from Khasad Road to Sania Hemad Village, and a 2.40 km road from Sania Hemadgam to Surat Kadodara Road. The total length of the Outer Ring Road is 12.944 km, and a newly constructed 1.65 km-long river bridge over the Tapi river, costing ₹179.31 crore, will also be inaugurated. Deshgujarat
