2 Gujarat cops to get President’s Police Medal, 18 Police Medal, 6 Home Minister’s Medal

New Delhi: Two Gujarat police officers will be honoured with the President’s Police Medal (PPM) for their exceptional service during the Independence Day celebration. Alongside them, a total of eighteen police officers will be recognised with the Police Medal (PM) for their commendable contributions. In addition to that, six policemen from the state will be conferred with the Home Minister’s Medal for their outstanding achievements in police investigations.
DGP Vikas Sahay conveyed his congratulations to the individuals chosen for these distinctions. ADGP Khurshid Ahmed and Vishal Chauhan have been selected to receive the President’s Police Medal.

Joshi, along with DySP (GUVNL) Virbhadrasinh Jadeja and retired inspector Sardarsinh Bariya, is being recognised for their diligent investigation into a case involving the murder and sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl in July 2020. Their swift actions resulted in the apprehension of the perpetrator, the filing of a chargesheet within a mere 44 days, and the subsequent imposition of capital punishment by the trial court.
