Dahod: During the Diwali festivities in rural Dahod, an incident has emerged where a youth is alleged to have been fatally beaten by the police, as claimed by the deceased’s family. Later, a crowd gathered at the Dahod Rural Police Station, leaving the body at the station and causing a commotion, leading the police to resort to a mild lathi charge.

This incident unfolded near Chosala Highway in Dahod as the police attempted to apprehend youths carrying liquor.

According to the family of the deceased youth, “While attempting to stop the two individuals on a bike, the police struck them with a stick while the vehicle was in motion, causing injuries to both individuals. Sadly, one of the youths passed away during treatment due to sustained injuries, while the other remains under medical care.”

Following the youth’s death, the family accused the police of being responsible for the fatal beating. Subsequently, the family and a gathering of people surrounded the Dahod Rupal police station, leading to a significant uproar.
