December 22, 2023
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Vidyapith Trustee Board on Thursday approved a proposal to establish a national center dedicated to the preservation of India’s indigenous cow breeds in Gujarat.
This proposal was presented by Acharya Devvrat, the Gujarat governor and chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapith, during the fourth such board meeting held at renovated Kochrab Ashram in Paldi.
Acharya Devvrat highlighted that the university, originally founded by Mahatma Gandhi, envisions fostering literacy and encouraging spiritual thinking, self-reliance, rural development, and contributing to national progress. In addition to this initiative, the board also decided to conduct a survey of all the university’s land and buildings, with plans to rename them.
Furthermore, the board reached a consensus to enter into agreements with both the central and state governments to digitise the university’s documents, as outlined in a press release. DeshGujarat
