Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has today taken a decision to give relaxation to its liquor prohibition policy in Gift City. Staffers, company owners, and visitors authorized by the companies operating in Gift City will be able to consume liquor in Gift City.

Highlights:

-The government has in its note stated that all employees and owners working in the entire GIFT city will get a liquor access permit. With this permit, they shall be able to consume liquor in GIFT City’s hotels/restaurants/clubs that offer Wine & Dine facilities. In addition to this, the visitors authorized by the company will be able to consume liquor through a temporary permit in the presence of a permanent employee os that company.

-GIFT City-based hotels, restaurants, and clubs will be able to get an FL3 permit meaning a Wine & Dine facility.

-GIFT City-based authorized staffers and visitors will be able to consume liquor at hotels/clubs/restaurant but hotels/club/restaurants will not be allowed to sell liquor bottles.

– In the entire process, the Prohibition and Excise Department of the Gujarat government will monitor and regulate liquor import, storage, and catering by FL-3 licensed hotels/restaurants/clubs in the GIFT City area.

The government granted permission for the consumption of alcohol at hotels, restaurants, and clubs offering “Wine and Dine” services in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). A notification specifies that a liquor access permit will be issued to all employees and owners within the entire GIFT City in Gandhinagar.

Additionally, a provision has been introduced to allow authorized visitors of each company to partake in alcohol consumption at hotels, restaurants, and clubs with temporary permits, provided they are in the company of permanent employees of that organization.

Hotels, restaurants, and clubs situated in or coming up at GIFT City will have the opportunity to acquire the “wine and dine” facility, i.e., FL3 license. Officially serving employees and authorized visitors of GIFT City can consume liquor in these establishments. However, it is emphasized that these establishments are not permitted to sell liquor bottles, according to the government directive. DeshGujarat
