Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister today flagged off an electric bus at GIFT City here. He along with MoS Transport Harsh Sanghavi also took a ride off the bus.
A 231 kw battery capacity bus is made in India by global company Switch Mobility. Charging of its battery takes one and a half hours. Such a bus earlier this year started moving on the roads of Mumbai also.
Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) which functions under the Government of Gujarat plans to purchase five such ultra-modern double-decker AC electric buses. Of them, two buses are launched today in a pre-event of Vibrant Summit 2024. Bus services using these buses will operate from 8 January between GIFT City and Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar. After the summit, GSRTC will operate these buses on the Sarkhej – Gandhinagar- GIFT City route. DeshGujarat
