KKV Bridge in Rajkot to be renamed as Shri Ram Bridge

Rajkot: With the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, the Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided to change the name of the KKV Bridge in the city. The bridge will be officially renamed as Shri Ram Bridge.

Jaimin Thakkar, Chairman of the RMC Standing Committee, informed about the decision, stating, “On January 22nd, the pran prathishta of Ram Lalla will take place in Ayodhya Ram Mandir. Keeping that in mind, the multilevel flyover on Kalavad Road will be renamed as Shri Ram Bridge. All 68 members from the Bharatiya Janata Party voted in favor of the resolution to rename the bridge in the general board meeting. On January 22nd, the renaming ceremony will take place at 10 am, presided over by the renowned Katha Vachak Rameshbhai Oza.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had inaugurated the second level of the flyover, which was constructed at an estimated cost of ₹129.53 crore at KKV Chowk on Kalavad road. It is the first double-decker flyover in Rajkot city, providing relief to commuters from traffic jams and connecting the city’s Kalavad road to the 150 ft ring road. The bridge spans 1.15 km in length and is 15 meters wide, with KKV Chowk on one end and Atmiya College on the other. The construction of this bridge continued for over two and a half years.
