Vadodara: Two days after the tragic boat capsizing incident in Harni, the city police have booked two more individuals for their alleged roles in overseeing the day-to-day operations at the Lake Zone in Motnath Lake. The tragic boat incident claimed the lives of 12 schoolchildren and two teachers. This development takes the number of people booked in the case to 20, with six arrests made so far.
On Saturday, police booked Paresh Shah and Nilesh Jain, who were managing the activities at Lake Zone. The police also informed the media that the individual appointed as the boatman possessed only swimming skills and lacked any other qualifications to operate the boat, and the helper on the boat did not even have swimming knowledge.
The six arrested so far include three partners of Kotia Projects: Bhimsinh Yadav, Vedprakash Yadav, and Rashmikant Prajapati; Lake Zone manager Shantilal Solanki; and the two individuals responsible for operating the boat that capsized, namely Nayan Gohil and Ankit Vasava.
The interrogation of the six accused has revealed that Shantilal Solanki was reporting to Paresh Shah, who is not the director of Kotia Projects. It is learned that Nilesh Jain, the operator of Dolphin Entertainment, managed the boats. Shah’s wife and children are the directors.
The police sought a remand of ten days for the arrested accused but were granted five days to further investigate the negligence and conduct of the Lake Zone management. DeshGujarat
