Palanpur: A Hindu youth was sodomized by Muslim men in Hadad village of Danta belt in Banaskantha district. The village today observed a strike protesting the incident. The locals marched in a rally and reached the local police station demanding prompt and strict actions against the accused.

As per the Hindu organization Bajrang Dal Gujarat – On the day of Ramlala Prana Pratishtha at Ayodhya-based Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, a young man who became Hanuman was caught by Muslim youth in Hadad of Banaskantha district and gang-raped for one week, by saying that this is the punishment for his becoming Hanuman.

Bajrang Dal Gujarat in its X handle further tweeted – The entire Hindu society is hurt by this incident. The business class of Hadad village closed the market and expressed anger against the criminals and Sangh-Bajrang Dal workers along with Hindu society took to the streets.

The locals said, Police initially refused to file the First Information Report (FIR) in this incident and took only a written application (but not a complaint). When approached, police opined that if the matter could be sorted out through compromise, there would be no need to register a complaint. However, there was a strong feeling among Hindus that a complaint must be filed in this case. Hindus gathered and marched the police station, after which a complaint was filed.

The local Muslims led by Deputy Sarpanch Iqbal Mansuri also held a meeting to condemn the incident and showed support for the protests. They visited a local police station and said they too would cooperate in finding and handing over the accused to the Police.

Police have meanwhile refuted the allegations that there was application taken first and FIR was filed later.The district Superintendent of Police said the social media news that FIR was denied first are baseless. The police officer also said that there’s no truth that the victim was playing Hanuman role and the incident has nothing to do with Ram Mandir pran pratishtha ceremony.
