Society residents protest against PG facilities in Thaltej, Ahmedabad
March 06, 2024
Ahmedabad: The residents of Jai Ambenagar Society in the Thaltej area of the city have hung banners demanding the removal of Paying Guest (PG) facilities from the society.
Residents of the society are angered as 26 out of 168 homes are being used for PG facilities. In response, residents gathered at night and hung banners that read, ‘PG Hatavo, Jai Ambenagar Society ne Bachavo,’ meaning ‘Remove PG and Save the Society.’ Families living here allege that the youth residing in the PGs become intoxicated and engage in vulgar acts, causing embarrassment to locals.
Women allege that there is insufficient parking space, and the elderly and children face difficulties moving around. Several landlords, driven by greed for money, have rented out houses without police verification, which is adversely affecting the atmosphere of the society. DeshGujarat
