Modasa: Modasa Police conducted a successful raid on Thursday in the Rana Sayed area, rescuing 103 cattle intended for illegal slaughter ahead of Bakri Eid. Led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police and supported by a large team, the operation saved the animals from being transported to slaughterhouses.

Modasa Town Police received a tip-off about illegal cattle transportation for Bakri Eid slaughter. Consequently, a large police force from Modasa Town and Rural Police, Tintoi Police Station, Local Crime Branch (LCB), Special Operations Group (SOG), Parole Furlough Squad, and Mahila Police Station, along with personnel from nearby stations, surrounded the Rana Sayed area on Thursday night, leading to chaotic scenes upon their arrival.

They found 4 animals near Gulamhusen urf Bilal Pirmohammad Multani’s house, 3 near Ashraf Gulab Multani’s, and 3 more near Hanif Hirabhai Multani’s residence. In total, 86 cows, bullocks, and calves were rescued and safely relocated to a shelter in Idar. The accused had tied the animals without providing them with food or water.

District Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjaya Keshavwala, Modasa Police Station PI AB Chaudhari, Modasa Town PI KD Gohil, LCB PSI VD Vaghela, Parole Furlough PSI KR Darji, Town PSI GS Swami, CM Rathod, PP Dabhi, Mahila Police Station PSI SD Solaar and all the staff of these police stations were deployed in the raid in Rana Sayed area. The rescued animals were of 2.4 lakh rupees value. The police have booked a case against the accused under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, ensuring legal action against those involved in the illegal transportation and mistreatment of animals.
