Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government has decided to open the Gujarat Common Admission Services (GCAS) Portal for a third and final round of admissions for UG and PG students. The portal will be open for postgraduate students from July 1 to 3 and for undergraduate students from July 4 to 6. So far, a total of 3.42 lakh students have been offered admission in the first two rounds.

To ensure uniformity in the admission process for colleges affiliated with 15 government universities and to maintain the academic schedule, the State Government launched the GCAS portal. Based on student feedback, the government has made important decisions regarding the GCAS portal.

Informing the press about these decisions, Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Education Department, announced that the GCAS portal will be open for the third round of applications. For graduation programs, the portal will be open from July 4 to July 6, and for postgraduate programs, from July 1 to July 3. Students can submit new applications or revise existing ones during these dates.

Moreover, he said that in the first round, 1.32 lakh graduate students and 31,363 postgraduate students have been admitted through the GCAS portal. The portal is open for the second round from June 27 to June 29. So far, a total of 3.42 lakh students have been offered admission in both rounds. These students must report to their allotted colleges from July 1 to 3. The third round will be the final round, he added.

He also announced that universities and colleges can now make essential changes to students’ profiles, academic details, or selected subjects through the GCAS portal. This process will be coordinated with GIPL for technical support at the university or college level.

Additionally, he mentioned that students admitted to undergraduate and postgraduate programs via the GCAS portal can visit their respective universities or colleges to cancel their admissions if needed.

If a student admitted to the B.Ed program via the GCAS portal needs to make changes to their course or academic details, the university or college can facilitate these changes in coordination with GIPL for technical support. DeshGujarat
