Devotees launch campaign against misconduct of monks of Vadtal Swaminarayan sect
July 16, 2024
Surat: Devotees of the Vadtal Swaminarayan sect have been protesting against the monks involved in immoral acts. Today, a campaign has been launched against these monks. Over 300 devotees (Haribhakts) will travel across villages, cities, and theaters to raise awareness and warn people about these unethical monks. The campaign began with posters put up near Mashal Circle at Palanpur Patia of the city urging the removal of such monks to safeguard the sanctity of the Swaminarayan sect.
There has been growing outrage among devotees who have witnessed atrocities committed by monks. Incidents such as manipulating students in Gurukuls, sexual assault, and forced abortions have fueled this anger, prompting widespread opposition to these monks.
Talking about the campaign a devotee stated, “For the past month, we have been vocal in our demand for the removal of these monks from the sect. However, the leadership of the Satsangi Sabha has not taken decisive action. Instead, complaints were filed against the innocent devotees who were protesting against these unethical monks. Consequently, we have taken it upon ourselves to protect Hinduism and Sanatan Dharma. Over 300 vehicles from Surat will travel to various cities, villages, and talukas to educate people on how to remain vigilant against such immoral monks and raise awareness about their misconduct.”
Devotees have compiled a list of more than 50 monks accused of indulging in immoral acts under the guise of sadhus. This list includes names like Navatam Swami, Harijivan Swami, Dev Prakash Swami, Sant Vallabh Swami, PP Swami Junagadh, Bhagwat Prasad Swami, Vishwajivan Swami, Madhav Prasad Swami Ankleshwar, and J.K. Devotee will protest against these monks, aiming to expose their misconduct and uphold the integrity of their faith.
The devotees’ sole demand is that legal action be taken against the sadhus involved in the crimes. They demand that the monks be jailed and that the innocent get justice. DeshGujarat
