Families of TRP Game Zone fire tragedy victims refuse to join Congress’s Nyay Yatra
August 09, 2024
Rajkot: The families of the victims of the TRP Game Zone fire tragedy will not be participating in the Nyay Yatra. The victims stated that since the government is addressing their demands for justice, they have no interest in running here and there.
Speaking to the media, one Pradeepsinh said, “No one can give us justice through the Nyay Yatra. If we were to get justice from it, we would engage in it for 2-3 months, but this is not the right approach. Therefore, 15-17 families are not joining the Yatra. The government is ready to accept our demands, so running here and there is futile. They (Congress) may take us in buses or cars, but that is for their own purposes; we have no interest in any yatra. We only demand a special public prosecutor and that the case be heard in a fast-track court because whatever justice is to be served will be served by the court and judge. If the government is supporting us with the huge fees in the High Court and Supreme Court, that is enough.”
Amita Ben, who lost her two daughters and son-in-law in the fire, said, “We have no interest in politics; we just want to ensure that whatever happened should not happen again and that we get justice. We do not have any other demands. The government is conducting the investigation properly to secure justice for us. We are hopeful that we will get justice as the government is helping us.”
On the other hand, Ashok Bhai mentioned that they have no intention of joining the Nyay Yatra but will be participating in the Tiranga Yatra, as it is about the country and not a political issue.
The Congress Party today kicked off its “Gujarat Nyaya Yatra” from Morbi. The yatra will pass through Morbi, Tankara, Rajkot, Chotila, Surendranagar, Viramgam, Sanand, Ahmedabad, and conclude in Gandhinagar on August 23. The party is conducting this yatra to seek justice for the victims of the TRP Game Zone fire mishap, Vadodara Harani Boat tragedy, Morbi Bridge tragedy, Takshashila fire incident, and other mishaps. The yatra also aims to raise a voice against corruption, bootlegging, and the rise of fake officers in the state. DeshGujarat
