Banaskantha: The Banaskantha Food and Drug Regulatory Authority has seized around 1,570 kg of suspicious ghee from Shree Sainath Trading Company in Deesa.
Acting on a tip-off that the firm was storing and selling adulterated food products, Food Safety Officers PR Chaudhary and LN Faf conducted a search at Shree Sainath Trading Company. As part of the investigation, approximately 1,570 kg of suspected ghee worth ₹9,47,360 was seized, and further action is being taken.
The food officers also took samples for lab analysis in the presence of the firm’s owner, Kalpesh Kumar Maheshbhai Panchiwala. They collected one pack of Shubh Premium Cow Ghee (1 litre) and two tins of 15 kg Shubh Cow Ghee. The remaining 1,570 kg of suspected ghee was confiscated.
The investigation revealed that the food products were manufactured and supplied by Shree Veer Milk Product, located at 108, Henny Industries, Masma (Olpad), Surat. Previously, four samples produced by the company had failed lab tests, leading to penalties from the court of the Adjudication Officer in three cases.
Prima facie, these items appear to be adulterated and unhealthy, and legal action will be initiated once the analysis report of the samples is received. DeshGujarat
