Advertising firm owner files complaint against Mahesh Langa; third FIR against him in month

Ahmedabad: The owner of an advertising company has filed police complaint against The Hindu newspaper’s Assistant Editor journalist Mahesh Langa in Ahmedabad. Langa is presently in judicial custody in Sabarmati jail in GST fraud case filed by GST official. Another case against him is filed in Gandhinagar by Gujarat Maritime Board official regarding theft of documents.

In the latest complaint by Pranav Shah, the owner of Khushi Advertising Langa is accused of cheating Shah of Rs. 28.68 lakh.

Shah in his complaint stated that he transferred Rs. 23 lakh to Langa for advertisement work and paid around Rs. 5 lakh for a birthday party of Mahesh Langa’s wife Kavita at upscale Jade venue on Sindhu Bhavan Road hosted by Mahesh Langa in September.

Shah in his complaint stated he paid Langa Rs. 23 lakh through a friend’s firm in March and June this year for Langa to purchase an office. Shah has further stated in complaint that he was promised by Langa for repayment of the amount in cash.Langa presented himself as an influential person in the media and the government circles and offered benefits to Shah in latter’s advertising business.

Shah bear the cost of Rs. 5,68,250 for the birthday party of Kavita Langa, as Mahesh Langa assured Shah that the amount will be reimbursed later in cash. However Langa later refused to pay the amount and intimidated Shah, as per the complaint.

It’s worth noting that according to Police, Rs. 20 lakh unaccounted cash was recovered from Langa’s house by Police against the annual declared income of Mahesh and wife Kavita Langa was Rs. 9.48 lakh and Rs. 6.04 lakh until 2022-23.

According to police Pranav Shah has shared substantial evidence including bank transaction records with police in connection with his complaint against Mahesh Langa. DeshGujarat
