MBBS first year student dies due to alleged ragging by seniors in Patan

Patan: Anil Methaniya, an 18-year-old MBBS first year student of GMERS medical college at Dharpur in Patan district died after he fell unconscious as he was allegedly compelled to stand for 3 hours during ragging by his seniors in the hostel of GMERS Medical College (Dharpur) on Saturday. The anti-ragging committee of the college is probing into the matter. The victim student was taken to the hospital after he collapsed. Anil was declared dead at the hospital. Victim’s body was sent for postmortem and a case of accidental death was registered in Balisana police station. DeshGujarat
