Gujarat govt spent ₹61.97 crore on airplanes, helicopters in last 2 years

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced in the state assembly that it has spent over ₹61 crore on the maintenance and operation of government-owned aircraft and helicopters in the last two years.
According to information provided by the government in the assembly, a total of ₹61,97,63,462 (approximately ₹61 crore 97 lakh) of public funds has been spent on aircraft rental, parking, pilot salaries, and maintenance.
According to the statistical data shared by the government, from February 1, 2023, to January 31, 2024, ₹23,38,89,452 was spent. Meanwhile, from February 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025, this expenditure increased to ₹38,58,74,010. The government explained that these expenses were incurred for maintenance, parking, rent, pilots, and other staff related to the helicopter.
