ACB Gujarat traps Deputy Mamlatdar, peon in ₹1 lakh bribe case
April 09, 2025
Godhra: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has booked a Deputy Mamlatdar and a peon of the Prant Office in Godhra for accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh.
According to the ACB, the accused are Mohmandaniim Mohmandsadiq Ranavadiya (34), Deputy Mamlatdar, and Ganpatbhai Kantibhai Patel (30), an outsourced peon (Pattwala), both working at the Provincial Office in Godhra.
As per the ACB, the complainant had purchased a land plot in the name of his partner. Due to complications involving family ownership, updates were required in the land records. When the case was transferred to the provincial office, Ranavadiya initially demanded ₹2.5 lakh, later settling for ₹1 lakh. Instead of paying the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB.
During the trap, Ganpatbhai Patel accepted the ₹1 lakh bribe on behalf of Ranavadiya in the presence of witnesses. Both were caught red-handed and booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The operation was conducted under the supervision of M.M. Tejot, Police Inspector (Mahisagar ACB), and Assistant Director B.M. Patel of the ACB Panchmahal Unit, Godhra. DeshGujarat
