April 16, 2025
New Delhi: The Ministry of Finance, through the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), has issued a notification that officially designates Dholera as a recognized customs port in the State of Gujarat.
As per the notification, Dholera is now authorized for the unloading of imported goods and the loading of export goods, or any class of such goods. This inclusion marks a significant step in enhancing Gujarat’s logistics and customs infrastructure.
As reported earlier, the upcoming Dholera International Airport is set to commence operations by June or July 2025, beginning exclusively with international air cargo services through freighter and passenger aircraft.
As part of that plan, Dholera International Airport Company Limited (DIACL) has already invited tenders from contractors for the operation and management of the international cargo terminal and ground handling services at Dholera Airport for a period of 7 years. DIACL has stated that it intends to commence international air cargo operations in the initial phase from June/July 2025.DeshGujarat
