ACB Gujarat nabs Dy Mamlatdar, aide in bribe case in decoy trap

Mehsana: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat conducted a decoy operation in Kadi, Mehsana, leading to the arrest of two individuals for demanding and accepting a bribe. The accused include Vipulkumar Manubhai Prajapati, 40, the Deputy Mamlatdar (Revenue), and Prince Manojkumar Bhavsar, 26, a Computer Operator (Outsource), both working at the Mamlatdar office in Kadi.
According to the ACB, a tip-off was received that the accused were demanding bribes ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹25,000 for services related to land records, document retrieval, and amendments in land records at the Mamlatdar office in Mehsana District. Based on this information, a decoy trap was set up, during which the accused Deputy Mamlatdar allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹20,000 for processing land-related documentation. Out of this amount, ₹10,000 was to be paid to Bhavsar, who was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.
The two accused have been booked and will face legal action under the Prevention of Corruption Act. DeshGujarat
