Patan: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed Ranchodbhai Laxmanbhai Gohil, a Cooperative Officer (Head Clerk – Class 3) at the District Registrar Cooperative Society Office in Patan, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹8,800.
According to the ACB, the complaint was filed by a citizen involved in a money lending business. The complainant had approached Gohil to rectify 22 erroneous entries in the government’s online portal. Gohil allegedly demanded ₹400 per entry, totaling ₹8,800, to carry out the corrections. Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB, which then laid a trap.
The trap was executed at the complainant’s office in Patan, where Gohil accepted the full bribe amount and was immediately apprehended. The entire bribe money was recovered from his possession. DeshGujarat
