Platform No. 6 at Udhna Railway Station to be widened
April 22, 2025
Surat: The Indian Railways has announced plans to increase both the height and width of platform number 6 at Udhna railway station, aiming to improve passenger convenience. Currently 7 meters wide, the platform will be expanded to 12 meters. Its height will also be raised to match the level of train coaches, easing the process of boarding and alighting.
The 600-meter-long platform number 6, constructed only recently, serves trains bound for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, including the Udhna–Jayanagar Antyodaya Express and several special trains that witness heavy passenger traffic. Railway officials confirmed that the construction work will begin within the next two months and will be carried out on a war footing. The expansion will help accommodate more passengers and improve crowd management during peak seasons like Diwali and summer vacations. DeshGujarat
