Locals protest alleged religious conversion event in Subir taluka of Dang
April 29, 2025
Dang: Local Hindus and organizations protested at the Atmik Jagruti program held by the Christian community in Junner village of Subir taluka, alleging that religious conversion activities were being carried out by the event organizers.
However, the police stated that no permission had been granted for any such activities at the event.
Protesting locals raised concerns. Mahendrasinh Rajput of the Agniveer Hindu Sangathan said, “Are the Aadhaar cards of the attendees being checked? Are they even Christians?”
Another protesting local added, “There are no Christians here—they are converting Adivasis into Christians, and we must protest this.”
Dang Deputy Superintendent of Police, S.G. Patil, said a meeting was held with local leaders where it was clarified that no religious conversion activities would be allowed. The police also briefly detained some protesters to prevent the situation from escalating. DeshGujarat
